Holiday Center Piece

Here is a picture of a Center Piece Anna created -

It has received many comments and inspiration from our customers. Hope it can help you in creating that special center piece for your Holiday get togethers'!

A large glass vase can be used in many ways when creating a center piece. It doesn't need to be filled with florals to make a statement, you can always fill it will glass balls or old ornaments you have kicking around.

And who doesn't love feathers! We used feather wreaths and simply laid them down on the table rather than hanging them. Which of course can be done with any wreath you may have.

Best of luck on your Holiday Center Piece!

Black Friday

To most people, Black Friday can be a very dreadful day. A day you may not like to participate in. I am one who would never think of getting up at 3am to stand outside the doors of Target, Best Buy, Sears etc... in hopes of not being stomped into the ground as I rush through the crowds in hopes of being one in 10 that snags that 50" Flat Screen T.V for $700.
But my point is, Black Friday doesn't need to be a dreaded shopping day. And for the first time, we are going to be having a Black Friday Sale at Keeping Good Company!
So join us for our first Black Friday Sale
Nov. 28th from 10am - 12pm ONLY
We promise you won't have to fight the crowds and you can enjoy warm beverages and cookies as you shop.
Not to mention, we promise you'll find great savings you won't want to miss!!!!

Furniture, Furniture, Furniture...

Many people don't realize that Keeping Good Company is a mix of many things. A great store to buy Home Decor, Gifts, Accessories for just that perfect spot, Interior Design Services, and of course Furniture. And on that note, Furniture from Keeping Good Company isn't the same thing your grandmother had down in her basement living room. It's unique, it's special, and it makes a statement! And to give you an idea of what you can find, I've created a page that shows some of the different lines we carry. Now mind you, what you see in the pictures is just the beginning. You may like exactly what you see in the catalog, but just remember there are hundreds of fabrics you can chose from. And yes, I did say HUNDREDS!!! And if you don't find what your looking for, you can always do a COM (customers own material). Not to mention you can almost always change wood colors, leg options, arm options, nail heads, no nail heads, and even turn your stationary chair into a swivel.

So please, take a moment to check out this new page. Bare with me as I add to it. It is still in it's beginning stage but will surely give you an idea of what you can expect from Keeping Good Company. And if you don't live here in Vermont, no need to worry. All Keeping Good Company stores do the same thing, and offer the same customization that you may be searching for.

So here's the link, please let me know what you think. Keep looking back as I add more items and furniture lines. We may have just the piece you've been dreaming about!

We all need a little Holiday Spirit

This past weekend was our first weekend after we decorated for the Holidays, and I can't tell you how many people came up to me and said, "This is what I needed to get me in the Holiday Spirit". Hearing that made closing the store down for those three long, tiresome days totally worth it! It's nice to know that someone can walk into our store and feel that much better. Now I shouldn't gloat, but we do have some very good customers (and I won't name names) who call our store their happy place. When they're feeling down they come to Keeping Good Company to bring their spirits back up and they leave feeling much better. Now, if you ask me, that makes me feel like we must be doing something right.

Welcome Holiday Season

We Re-Opened last night with a very successful Holiday Open House. Thank you to everyone who joined us, and those of you who were unable to make it please stop in this weekend. The Open House will continue through Sunday with refreshments and a chance to win a FREE In-Home Consultation. Amazingly we were able to pull off another transformation of our store into a winter wonderland with some truly outstanding vignettes. I will post pictures as soon as I get a chance to unload the camera. The pictures truly don't do justice to seeing the store in person. So if you haven't been in yet, put us on your list of places to go this weekend and stop in.

Warm and Toasty in Vermont

Just in...today we received the newest shipment of blankets. You may be thinking, "who cares about blankets?" but these blankets are AMAZING!!! Talk about soft and warm and all you want to do is cozy up on the sofa wrapped in them. Not to mention a few of them are made from Bamboo which makes them even softer. I have one of the new styles, "Giddy Up" and you can ask my husband, I live in it at night. Not to mention we live in Vermont and it's starting to get a bit chilly at night and what better time to have a warm blanket!!

Halloween Goodies for all!

This month has just flown by! I can't believe Halloween is already this week, not to mention we're gearing up for our Holiday Open House next week. We've already begun bringing all our holiday items out in the backroom to get an idea of where things will go. We can't wait to get the store re-decorated with all the goodies we found this year, and we know everyone who comes to the store will love it. We have some fun ideas that I can't wait to put into place, more things hanging from the ceiling, cute ornaments that no one can resist, and of course the return of the Gingerbread houses and Kindles (new styles and figurines of course!).

Be sure to stop in this week to see what's left for Fall and Halloween decorating before everything is all gone.

And don't miss The End of Fall Sale going on now!

First Snow and Halloween

It has arrived! Most people dread this time of year and wish the fall weather would last just a little bit longer, but unfortunately it is coming to an end already. This morning most of us woke up to the first snow fall, and it is still falling. Not enough to make everyone too crazy yet, but enough to put people in the mindset that winter is upon us.

Well it's just in time! A week before Halloween, and a week before we turn our store into a winter wonderland. In fact, 10 days until we paper the windows and start the grueling task of decorating for the Holidays. But before we can do that, we need to get ourselves ready, and move all the Fall and Halloween items out. Today we will start our Fall Sale, all fall and Halloween items will be on sale until there are no more. Including those designer made Halloween decorations that people flock into our store to buy. You'd be surprised how many women have Halloween collections, and when they see a new piece they just about die! In fact, last year we had three women from Florida who happened to be walking by our window on their way to dinner and saw that we had a display of Halloween items that Anna and I were just setting up. And it was like a tornado came through our store. They swooped up all our designer figurines and decorative pumpkins and candy corn. They were having a blast, and we were trying to figure out how we were going to ship all this and have it arrive in one piece. Believe it or not, we did pretty well, only two broken items and luckily we had a few left in the store to send down to them.

Pongo Pete

Trick or Treat

But, back to my point, all Fall and Halloween items on the floor are on sale starting today. Who wants to wait till after Halloween to get all those good buys, why not before Halloween so you have it for this year and enjoy it!

Fall Harvest Table

Dinner for two at our Halloween Table

First time blogging....

My name is Chelsea and I am the daughter of Pam and Jeff who are the owners of Keeping Good Company. My father and I often find ourselves nagging at mom about keeping up with the times. She's never been that savvy with the computer but in this day and age you have to be, especially when you own your own business. So I've finally caved in and agreed to sit down and write a blog about Keeping Good Company. This blog probably should be written by Pam (the owner) but she doesn't always have the time to do things like this. So I figured if I get this started she might just catch on and like writing on it. So here we go...so far I'm getting into blogging, hopefully she will too! Kind of reminds me of writing in my childhood journal late at night under the covers when my mom thought I was fast asleep. Only difference is the words I write are public knowledge and no longer the secrets I keep to myself.

Like many people who walk through our doors daily, the question that is always on their minds (and possibly on yours too) is: What is Keeping Good Company and how long have you been here? After opening our store a little over 2 years ago we all still cringe when someone says, "Is this store new?" Well No! We've been here a little over 2 years, where have you been?

I created a new ad campaign, along with my fathers help of course, and it hits right on the nose. Titled appropriately, "We Are the Best Kept Secret" and that is true in more than one way. Women walk into our store and gasp about how much they love our store and we can only hope that now they have found us they will go to their next book club gathering and tell all their friends about us. Because, after all this time.....we are still a secret in this community.

And hopefully if your reading this blog, you already know about Keeping Good Company and how wonderful of a store it is. And hopefully you're the one going to your next book club gathering and telling your friends about this great store you know they'll just love!

So stop in today whether you've been in before or not and say hi. We always love meeting new friends!
